 Focusing on the Jamsil ↔ Yeouido Route

The Seoul Metropolitan Government has launched a new water-based public transit service called Han River Bus, which officially began operations on September 18, 2025. The service connects seven piers: Magok → Mangwon → Yeouido → Apgujeong → Oksu → Ttukseom → Jamsil. The Jamsil↔Yeouido segment is part of this route.

⏱ Operating Times & Frequency

  • Operating hours: The first boat departs around 11:00 AM, and the last arrival is at approximately 9:37 PM

  • Number of daily rides: Initially about 14 round trips per day in the early service period. 

  • Frequency: Every 1 to 1.5 hours between boats in the early period.

  • Future increase planned: From October 10, additional service during peak hours (express routes) to shorten waiting times.

  • Adult fare (standard): ₩3,000 per ride 

  • Youth (aged 13–18): ₩1,800 

  • Children (aged 6–12): ₩1,100

  • Climate Companion Card (“기후동행카드”): For an additional fee, users can ride unlimited times under certain terms. 

  • Transfer discounts: Possible when using T-money or other public transit cards; the fare structure allows for integrating with other transit modes. 


✔️ Capacity, Reservation & Conditions

  • Capacity: Not explicitly published yet. The service uses several vessels, with accessibility features included (wheelchair seats, ramps, etc.). 

  • Reservation: Official sources currently emphasize on-site boarding and payment. No clear statement that advanced reservations are required or fully implemented. 

  • Weather impact: Operates in normal weather including light rain. However, during severe weather (e.g. typhoons, strong winds, heavy rain) service may be suspended. Watch for official notifications.
